Info Post for Save the Earth
Basic Info
Name: Killian Thorsson-Ryan (as of October 2014)
Past Life: Kíli (The Hobbit, film trilogy mostly since he has a personality in that)
Age: 19
Appearance: 4'8" (142.24 cm), curly chin length dark brown hair, almost always in a jacket of some sort, kind of scrawny-but-not-quite. Scruffy, too, though he has trouble growing facial hair.
Note: Killian does not attend high school. He usually runs around with a few of the milder delinquent types, usually tagging something or occasionally trespasing. Nothing too serious.
Full App: Here but note: there are spoilers for the end of the trilogy if you have not already read the book
StE History
Killian Ryan’s family, he was told, was once a well-off family in Dublin, Ireland who had made their fortune in stocks and toy production. He doesn’t, in all honesty, know the truth of it, as several years before he was born the family wealth was lost and his family fled to the United States in hopes of a better life. He has no hometown, as his family was constantly on the move to avoid whatever it was that was chasing them from Ireland (he honestly doesn't know, but he suspects it might be whatever or whoever caused his family's downfall), and his only friends growing up were a few cousins. He was homeschooled by his mother until arriving in Locke City a few months ago. Despite her urging him to enroll, Killian hasn’t gone to high school (though it’s less from a desire to be a delinquent and more a case of him knowing that whatever he learned from his mother is probably enough to let him get a high school degree when he decides to get it).
Shortly after they finally settled on Locke City, Killian sort of fell in with the “wrong” crowd. He doesn’t break any laws (unless we count occasionally breaking drinking laws, frequently breaking smoking laws, constantly breaking laws against graffiti, and occasionally trespassing), but they’re not the best sort of people to hang around with. Killian doesn’t consider them “friends”, really, but it’s nice to have people who recognize him in a place for once.
This is when he got his first Echo.
Added: What Killian didn't know was that he had family in Locke City--though to be fair, his mother hadn't known before her death either. Killian's father, Hjalti Thorsson, had been living in the Locke City area before traveling to Ireland and falling in love with Catherine Ryan, Killian's mother. They had been engaged but when things went south for the Ryan clan, Catherine broke it off and ran with the unborn Killian. Because his engagement to Catherine had caused a lot of strife in the family, Hjalti never told them about her departure and in fact hasn't spoken to them in at least seventeen years. This silence led to neither Killian nor his father's family, still in the city, knowing that the blacksmith that hired Killian for his jewelery making is owned and operated by his uncle, Thorir (who is the reincarnation of Thorin Oakenshield).
